Colour me RAD

This week was really exciting! We had zone conference, exchanges, and volunteered at a colour run (it was called colour me rad). All of them where super fun and I got to be companions with Sister Howe for a day!

We also saw a ton of miracles! That boy Tarek that I mentioned a few weeks ago is now on date and wants his family to be taught as well! We were out tracting and we met this man. He told us that he knew some members from when he was younger and said he would love to learn more! We are so excited to meet with him! Lots of other miracles I am too lazy to type out...

Heritage Days🎪

Hey Folks!

So this week was Heritage Days! It is a big festival here that is lots of fun. Because of the mixing pot that is here in Canada there are so many different cultures and things. There were 65 different countries that set up booths and were selling food. It was delicious :) we were able to volunteer at this festival to help the food bank. It was fun to be among all the different cultures of Edmonton! This place is the best!

"Shreddin' the shinny with the boyz"

We met a sir and asked him what made him happy and he told us that "Shreddin' the shinny with the boyz" is what made him happy. We asked him what that meant and he said he would dumb it down for us nonstreet folk and it means playing hockey with your friends. How did we not know what that was?

Marriage proposals 💍

Soooo transfers happened last week and I left Whitemud and boy was that a sad day but my new area and companion are dang awesome! My companion is Sister Brown and she is from Jamaica!! We are covering two wards called Forest Heights and Strathcona. Strathcona is a young married student ward so it's basically YSA but all the couple's are just married! Our area is downtown so I'm preaching the gospel in the streets and having the time of my life!

Hello hello!

This week was pretty full of FINDing but we did have some awesome lessons! We had the opportunity to teach the youth in the wards in our stake. They are amazing and their testimonies are so strong! They both have some hard trials in their lives but they have just used them to get closer to Christ. They are a good example to me!

Hello hello!

This week we were at the LRT station and I waved and said hello to someone. He lit up and said hello. I asked how his day was going and he said it was going good. I explained what we do and asked if we could exchange numbers to set up a time to meet. He quickly gave me his number and I gave him a card. He asked if it was my cellular number and i said yes. He then GRABS MY HAND and starts asking me a bunch of weird questions like how my parents are doing and how work is going. We told him we had to go and he wouldn't let go of my hand! He texted us later and said he missed me ahh!

HAPPY CANADA DAY🇨🇦 I hope everyone showed a little Canadian pride and celebrated on Sunday for my sake! We had a fun week full of zone conference, running a 5K to celebrate 20 years of our mission, and miracles!

I forgot to put in my weekly email last week that my P-day is changing to Monday for this week because it is good ole President Pattison's birthday today whoot whoot! So I promise I'm not just breaking the rules :)

The Spirit of God like a fire is burning!

Hello hello!

This week I have such a testimony of acting on promptings! We had been knocking one of the first weeks Sister Falkner was here and someone had told us we could come back but it wasn't super solid so we had kind of forgot about it honestly. We had been planning to go back for weeks but kept pushing it off because things kept coming up. The other day I felt like we really needed to go back. We went and this sir answered that we didn't recognize. He was housesitting for his brother and it was the last night he was going to be there. We testified of the Book of Mormon and he said he'd never heard of it but was really excited because it was more about Jesus Christ and who doesn't want to learn more about Him? We gave him a copy and boy was he excited!

"Jesus has the same beard no matter what church you go to!"

The lady that told us this was definitely not wrong. She is just missing out on all the added knowledge that we have on the Saviour. 

"Do Mormons drink milk?"

Yes, I got asked that on the LRT this week...

It was a good week as usual! We started this week with a text from some missionaries telling me that two people I found are on date for baptism! Last week we received a text about a new investigator so we went and taught him and invited him to FHE that night and he came! As we taught him this week we invited him to church and he said he would love to come.
