The other day we were reading the Book of Mormon with a less-active family. We were reading Alma 32 because one of them is struggling with faith. We got to verse 18 and in it it says "Nay" and after he read it he asked what that meant. I was trying to explain that it was just saying no in old english and then one of my companions just started neighing like a horse. We all had a pretty good laugh about that.
We were road trippin all week which was a lot of fun. Our area is quite large as we were looking at the map this week and we found little towns that we have that we haven't been out to. One of them is called Fort Mackay and it is about an hour away. A lot of people that live there are Indians so it was quite the experience. A lot of them don't speak English very well. We also went to a place named Anzac where a lot of people live that work in the Oil Sands. As we were sharing the Light the world video with them you could see their face change. They were so excited to tell us about the times that they had helped out. Because they were such small towns, many of the people were very close to one another. It was amazing the sense of community that was felt and how willing they were so serve one another. Many of them were excited and willing to start doing the Light the World initiative.
I encourage all of you to check it out! The Church has made it so easy to do this year and the videos are so cute for each day! Get on and check it out and see how you can light the world! I would love to hear about any experiences you have with that:)
I love you all!
