To explain the caption...last week, my comp asked me to cut her hair and being the good comp I am I said I would! Her hair is super curly (pro tip: if curly hair is wet, cut it way longer than what you expect) and it was wet so it was straight and pretty long. She asked me to cut it to about her shoulders so I put a towel over her shoulder and made the first cut. It was quite a bit shorter than she wanted it so I told her not to worry I would just cut the rest longer and she could pin that piece back. I kept cutting with the help of my other comp confirming it was the right length that she wanted it. In the end all of it was the same length as the first piece and I'm honestly not sure how that happened. Luckily she thought it was super cute and didn't want to kill me! This is why you don't want to live with your hairdresser:)Tuesday, December 26, 2017

The pits of the pits...
Hellooo!
This week someone told us that Alberta was the pits of Canada and that Fort McMurray was the pits of Alberta so we are in the pits of the pits hahaha! I would have to disagree with them though because I absolutely love it here! It was a slower week here with lots of tracting and only 1 lesson but that means we were able to talk to more people!

Behold, I say unto you, "Neigh"
The other day we were reading the Book of Mormon with a less-active family. We were reading Alma 32 because one of them is struggling with faith. We got to verse 18 and in it it says "Nay" and after he read it he asked what that meant. I was trying to explain that it was just saying no in old english and then one of my companions just started neighing like a horse. We all had a pretty good laugh about that.

Canadian missionaries sang as they shoveled and shoveled and shoveled🎶
Heyo!
As I'm sure you can tell from the subject...my week was full of shoveling! We got dumped on with more snow this week and now have about 3 feet of snow! We aren't allowed to drive in the snow until 2 hours after it stops, if the plows have been around. Since it wouldn't stop snowing, we weren't able to drive so we got to hike around in the snow to our appointments and we shoveled lots! A member told us that in the 5 years they have lived here they have never had this much snow. They also said we have more snow this year already then they did all of last year. We are just being blessed with snow here!

Hockey, Hot Chocolate, & Tim Hortons
This week was SO good, I don't even know where to start!
On Tuesday we had a training given by Elder Schweitzer from the 70 and that was so powerful. He is an amazing man. We started exchanges right after and went till Wednesday afternoon. I went with Sister Tsou who is just the cutest Asian from Taiwan. She can't drive so I got to drive us around with the crazy city traffic in the snow. It was such an adventure and we only got lost once.

Newfie Neil
Heyyyooo!
To explain the subject line...we were tracting and this guy answered and told us to come back the next day. We went back the next day and turns out this guy is a model/comedian/magician and tours the world with all sorts of famous people. We aren't sure if he's really as famous as he says he is, but he gave us his number and told us to call him if we ever need anything. Also, his show comes out on Netflix January 2019 just a heads up! Look him up!

Winter has comeeeee
Helloooo,
The great winter has begun up here whoot whoot! We had transfers this week...and everything is staying the same for me and my companions! There were only 13 companionships that stayed the same and we were one of the lucky ones! Also, next week I'll be having P-day on Monday because we will be in Edmonton for mission tour yay!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN🎃
Hello hello!
It was such a good week here in Fort Mac! We got a couple inches of snow this week it was so exciting:) We met this guy named Philip and he invited us in for a cup of tea and pie. We didn't get more than a couple words in the whole hour that we were there. We were able to tell him a little about the Book of Mormon and asked him to read it. He asked us to come back in a couple days when his wife was home.

One More Door

This week was kind of slow because in Fort Mac there isn't much to do, so everyone takes every excuse they can to leave. Also, with the weather getting cold, everyone is getting sick. We couldn't set up many appointments because everyone was either gone for thanksgiving, or sick:( We had been stopping by potentials all week with not much luck until....Tarell opened his door! We were kind of in shock because it had been a while since someone was actually home (or not hiding from us). We stood there for a few seconds so I just started talking. Tarell was a name we found in our area book who had been taught the Restoration, but for some reason nobody had followed up with him. I introduced us as missionaries and asked if he would still be interested (after almost 2 years) in meeting with missionaries. He seemed super excited and invited us in! Sadly, we had stopped by right before we were supposed to go home for the night so, we scheduled a time to come back the next day.
The next day, we went over and we taught him the history behind the Book of Mormon. He seemed super interested and said he wanted to learn more! We gave him a Book of Mormon and he said he would definitely read it, whoot whoot!
We had gone over to Tarell's house at like 8:50 that night. If we had just decided we were going to go back to the apartment instead of knocking 1 more door, we wouldn't have found Tarell. Have faith in Him!
Keep smiling:)
