Yes, I got asked that on the LRT this week...

It was a good week as usual! We started this week with a text from some missionaries telling me that two people I found are on date for baptism! Last week we received a text about a new investigator so we went and taught him and invited him to FHE that night and he came! As we taught him this week we invited him to church and he said he would love to come.

Hope For Humanity

Well it's that time again for a weekly update!

Not a whole bunch happened this week other than lots of good FINDing! While on the LRT I met this sir who was 20 years old with a newborn baby. He told me it was his only day off work and he was on his way to see his son. We talked a lot about religion and why he is agnostic. He thanked me for talking to him and said he wouldn't have talked to a single person his whole hour ride to see his son. He said I brightened his day and gave him hope for humanity. A simple conversation changed his whole day!

Exponential Potentials

Hello hello!

What a great week here! We went to the temple, had a whole bunch of meetings, and went on exchanges. Sister Falkner and I were getting frustrated with all of our investigators ignoring us so we made a goal to go out and work hard to fill our areabook with some new people. We had set a goal of 7 or 8 new potentials thinking that would be a stretch but having faith we went out. We got 15 new potentials and 2 new investigators! The Lord really blesses us for our diligent efforts!

Hello my people!

God is in the very details of our lives lemme tell ya! We were on our way to a lesson with one of our investigators and she cancelled which was kind of frustrating because it was her 3rd or 4th time cancelling on this lesson. Since the lesson fell through we were headed out tracting. As I was driving I had a very distinct place come into my mind of where we needed to go tracting. As I drove there, none of the houses were really sticking out to me but as as I turned off the car this cute old lady walked passed and looked in the window. I smiled and waved so she knocked on the window. We rolled down the window and she said she thinks she knows me! She asked if we wanted to come in and chat over some cranberry juice. 

Why is it called rush hour when nobody is gettin' anywhere fast?

Boy oh boy it was a quick week! The title of this email is a real question of the soul I've been pondering. Earlier this week we were out walking by the university looking for people to talk to. Nobody was on the sidewalk but it was rush hour and there was a lady with her window rolled down. I often make dumb decisions and ran out in the street to talk to her. Since the cars were barely moving I was able to talk to her and give her a card. Hopefully she gives us a call!

We had transfers last week and I have a wonderful new missionary as a companion! Her name is Sister Falkner from Spanish Fork, Utah! She is so cute and excited to be a missionary!

Hello!

This week me and Sister Howe had the wonderful opportunity to go and serve women food who come from hard backgrounds. It was amazing to feed them and see how absolutely grateful they were. One lady came in and said, "Oh yay it's my Mormon friends!" Another lady told me she was so grateful because she had enough food to bring home to her children. Another lady insisted that she knew me, and who knows, maybe we were friends up in Heaven! These women were so extremely grateful and they were all such sweethearts. I am lucky to be standing in God's place up here in Edmonton.

Good & Bad News📰

We had another exciting week here in Whitemud Creek! I will start with the bad news...many of our favourite couples in the ward broke up. Me and Sister Howe were so sad!

Bible Bashers and Baptisms

This was such an eventful week! At the beginning of the week the elders called us up and told us they have some solid potentials for us. We met at Starbucks for our lesson and met this YSA couple. They pulled out their bibles and we taught them the Restoration. It was going really well until...the boyfriend started bashing and told us he has read the Book of Mormon and prayed and God told him that he needed to let us know it was wrong. We asked him why is was wrong but he couldn't give us an answer. We kindly finished the lesson and left. The Book of Mormon is too good!

I hope you all watched conference and enjoyed it as much as I did! It was amazing and all the talks were so inspired (as usual). I am especially pumped for the temple that is being built in Layton, Utah!
